Te Mata ‘Zara’ Hawke’s Bay Viognier 2009

Viognier from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 02-Mar-2011
This shows its cooler ‘Woodthorpe' vineyard sourcing with its elegant, rather than opulent style. Soft exotic floral and blossom aromas and restrained, but well-concentrated apricotty, citrusy and spicy flavours are expressed with refinement. Mainly fermented in old French oak to 14.0% alc., and given some lees work. This will drink with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3-5 years.  Mar 2011
