Bright ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on rim. This has a very elegant nose which unfolds beautiful perfumes of ripe dark red fruits with notes of blackcurrants and oak spices that emerge in the glass. Medium-full bodied, the palate has attractively lifted aromatic fruit flavours of dark raspberries and plum fruit, with blackcurrant, fresh herbs and cedar spice nuances that unfold. The fruit and fine tannin texture forms a good core with drive through the length of the palate, the fruit growing in sweetness, enlivened by lacy acidity, and carrying through to a vibrant red-floral finish. This is a wine of finesse and vitality that will undoubtedly grow in richness over the next 7-9+ years. 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 19 months in predominantly new French oak barrels. 18.5+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $85.50
