Te Mata ‘Coleraine’ Hawke’s Bay 2006

Cabernet Sauvignon from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 08-Mar-2012
Very dark, deep, black-red, near-impenetrable, some garnet on edge. The nose is very deep and intense with aromas of fresh, lively black fruits, iron-earth and dark florals, along with complexing secondary elements just appearing. Medium-full bodied, dark plum and berry fruit flavours show with excellent freshness and brightness, enlivened by the acidity. Subtle savoury secondary development flavours also show, and the fruit is underscored by very fine-grained, reasonably firm tannins forming depth and length. A very well-balanced with with plenty of rich fruit, extract and structure to handle 7-9+ years of aging. 49% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. 13.5% alc. 18.5/20 Mar 2012
