Te Mata ‘Bullnose’ Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2007

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 07-Mar-2014
Black-red colour with youthful purple hues. The bouquet has a complex amalgam of ripe and earthy black fruits with an iron core of minerals black pepper and some perfumed red berry fruit elements that emerge in the glass. Medium-full bodied, sweet, juicy and supple flavours of ripe black berry fruits feature on palate. The fruit is sweet and lush and supported by considerable tannin extract. The fruit prevails, unfolding layers of minerals, black pepper and earthy nuances, along with some oak lift. This is a sweet and lush Syrah in the black fruits spectrum, drinking well now and over the next 5+ years. Three clones of Syrah from the ‘Bullnose’ vineyard, hand-picked and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 16 months in new and seasoned French oak. 18.5+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $N/A
