Te Mata ‘Awatea’ Hawke’s Bay Cabernet/Merlot 2009

Cabernet Sauvignon from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 02-Mar-2011
45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc,at 13.5% alc., aged 18 months in new and seasoned French oak, has a bright, deep, purple hued ruby-red colour. The bouquet is very fine and showing extremely attractive aromatics of florals, black berry fruits and plums with new oak shine. Still very tightly bound on palate, this has beautifully lush and juicy, sweetly ripe fruit underscored by serious, powdery tannin extraction. A wine that needs time to blossom, this will live 7-10+ years easily.  Mar 2011
