40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 38% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, fermented to14.0% alc., the wine aged 20 months in new and seasoned French oak. Deep, saturated black-hearted red, still youthful in appearance. The bouquet is powerfully packed and dense with ripe, black berry fruits and blackcurrants with layers of dark red plums and savoury, secondary earthy layers that unfold to fill the nose. Medium-full bodied, densely packed flavours of black fruits are entwined with iron and earth, forming a concentrated core with great line and drive. The fruit is supported by fine-grained, powdery tannins, the acidity quite soft and in the background. This has complexity and suppleness to enable drinking now and over the next 8+ years. Elegant in proportion, but with dense aromatics of fresh blackcurrants and cassis on bouquet, the intensity and concentration on the palate is the feature. Clearly Cabernet Sauvignon in primary expression, this has substantial, but fine-grained extraction and a firm, long finish.
