Te Mania ‘Reserve’ Nelson Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Oct-2012
Clones 115, 777 and 5 hnd-picked, destemmed, and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 13 months in 33% new French barriques. Full, even, light ruby-red colour with purple hues. The bouquet is very fine and tightly bound with subtle warm raspberry, cherry and red floral fragrances, revealing some nutty oak and spice elements in the glass. Medium-full bodied, the fruit flavours are reticent, but showing bright red cherry notes, raspberry liqueur and spices. Fine-grained tannins are the feature on the palate, providing a concentrated and stylish mouthfeel with flowing textures. There is density and good acidity to the palate which carries through to a long, firm and tightly bound finish. This is a youthful and tightly bound, finely structured Pinot Noir that will unfold its fruit richness over the next 5-6 years when it will merit a higher rating. Match with Mediterranean cuisine. Vegan wine. Certified BioGro Conversion organic. 17.0+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $34.99
