Te Mania ‘Reserve’ Nelson Chardonnay 2009

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 18-Mar-2011
Made from fruit undergoing conversion to organic certification. Fully barrel-fermented to 14.2% alc., and aged 11 months with regular lees stirring in 31% new oak, 100% MLF. Bright and clear pale-straw-yellow colour with a youthful appearance, this has a tight nose of citrus fruit, still fresh and yet to come together with the spicy oak. Showing ripe nectarine, citrus and yellow stonefruit flavours on the palate, the oak is prominent, but in good balance. Racy acidity adds a liveliness and lifts the malo notes. This will develop more harmony and nutty complexities over the next 3-4+ years. Drink with grilled seafood and roast pork. 17.0+/20 Mar 2011 RRP $27.90
