Te Mania Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Nov-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour, pale on the rim. The nose is fresh with light and gentle aromas of passionfruit and gooseberries with hints of tropical fruits, fresh herbs, unveiling some mineral nuances. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is gently concentrated with tightly bound, integrated flavours of passionfruit and gooseberries melded with tropical fruits, fresh herbs and white florals. The mouthfeel is thirst-quenchingly dry with fine-grained phenolic textures, and soft, ripe, bur fresh acidity. The acidity provides freshness and energy and carries the wine to a mouthwatering finish with restrained gooseberry and passionfruit notes. This is a tightly bound Sauvignon Blanc with light passionfruit and gooseberry fruit flavours on a thirst-quenching, brisk palate. Match with seafood and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. 49% Ranzau, 42% Richmond Plains and 9% Mahana fruit, all from the Waimea Plains, tank-fermented, 20% by indigenous yeasts to 12.5% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS, some batches given skin contact, the wine aged 5 months on lees with some batonnage. Vegan wine. Certified Asurequality organic. 16.5+/20 Nov 2016 RRP $21.99
