Te Mania Nelson Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Jan-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight green-gold hues, lighter on edge. The bouquet is softly full and well-packed with funky and complex aromas of lime fruit, honey, savoury nutty elements, musk and minerals. Dryish to off-dry to taste, an amalgam of yellow florals, citrus fruits, savoury honey, minerals and nuts softly fill the mouth and form a broad, but weighty palate with vinosity and presence. The mouthfeel is open, with some acid energy that carries the flavours to a soft, well-concentrated finish. This is a softly full and broad dryish Riesling with funky, savoury flavours, Serve with Chinese and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit, the vineyard in organic conversion, WBP cool-fermented in tank with 12% indigenous yeast fermented in old oak to 12.7% alc. and 6 g/L RS. 178 cases made. 16.5+/20 Jan 2014 RRP $20.00
