Te Mania Nelson Pinot Noir Rosé 2011

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 01-Dec-2011
All Pinot Noir, 70% clone 5 from the ‘Marsland' vineyard and 30% Mariafeld clone from the ‘Richmond Plains' site. Half from overnight skin contact, 30% saignée and 30% from Blanc de Noir pressings, fermented to 14.1% alc. and 4.0 g/L rs, 13% in old oak. Bright, vivid, light pink colour with some youthful, purple hues. The bouquet shows intense cherry and raspberry syrup fruit aromas along with confectionary notes, quite fresh and steely with nuances of garden herbs. Dry and medium-bodied, this is solidly fruity with plenty of juicy raspberry and cherry flavours forming a good dense core. The acidity is restrained resulting in soft textures and a smooth, mellow mouthfeel, which allows the fruitiness to feature. This is youthful and quite primary. A bright and up-front, juicy wine to match antipasto, tapas and dim sums over the next 18-24 months. Suitable for vegans. 17.5-/20 Dec 2011 RRP $18.99
