Te Mania Nelson Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 28-Jun-2016
Ruby-red colour with moderate depth and light purple hues on the rim. The nose is slender and light with modestly concentrated, uncomplicated primary red cherry fruit aromas, along with some raspberry elements and fresh, dark herbal notes. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses up-front, bright and lively flavours of red cherry fruit, fragrant red florals and herbal nuances. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively, enlivened by brisk acidity. Light tannin extraction lends some grip and dry textures to the palate line and the wine flows to a cherry-fruited finish. This is a pretty and refreshing, uncomplicated Pinot Noir with cherry and floral flavours and a lively, dry mouthfeel. Serve with firn-fleshed seafood, antipasto, tapas and pasta over the next 2-3 years. Clones 5, 115, 667 and 777 fruit from vines 16-25 y.o. from the ‘Ranzau’, ‘Richmond Plains’ and ‘Penley Grove’ sites on the Waimea Plains, fermented partially with indigenous yeasts to 13.0% alc, the wine 14-19 days on skins, two-thirds aged 10 months in seasoned oak and one-third in tank. Vegan wine. In conversion to Asurequality organic. 16.0+/20 Jun 2016 RRP $24.99
