Te Mania Nelson Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Nov-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, lighter on the edge. This has a delicate and refreshing nose of tightly bound white stonefruit entwined with exotic white and yellow floral elements and nuances of minerals. The nose is slender but grows in intensity with aeration. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, this has a bright and fragrantly fruity palate with a fine core of aromatic flavours of white and yellow stonefruits, rose petals and exotic fruits. The palate is well-concentrated and rounded in texture with unctuous elements adding richness. The acidity is integrated and the wine flows smoothly to a dry, fine-textured, lingering finish of exotic floral and fruit notes. This is a fine and tightly concentrated, brightly aromatic dryish Pinot Gris with exotic fruits and florals on a smooth flowing palate. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 3 years. 80% ‘Greenpoint’ Moutere fruit, hand-picked and 20% Ranzau fruit from the Waimea Plains, 50% WBP and 50% crushed with some skin contact and tank-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 7 g/L RS, the wine on lees for 5 months with batonnage. Vegan wine. 17.5/20 Nov 2016 RRP $21.99
