Te Mania Nelson Gewurztraminer 2014

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 07-Jan-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with pale green hues on edge. The nose is finely concentrated with aromas of white and rose-petal florals interwoven with stonefruits, spices and minerals. This is clearly youthful and has the potential to blossom. Medium-dry to taste and fullish-bodied, the fruit is restrained but shows a concentrated heart with rose-petal florals, spices and honey. The palate is well-proportioned with a subtle oiliness of texture and good fruit richness. This has good linearity and flow, the soft acidity providing energy. The wine reveals attractive musk notes and the flavours lead to a soft-textured, lingering, rich finish. Restrained in flavour at present, this medium-dry Gewurztraminer has the richness to develop over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit, 50% WBP and fermented to 14.2% alc. and 14 g/L RS. 194 cases made. 17.5+/20 Jan 2015 RRP $21.99
