Te Mania Nelson Gewurztraminer 2013

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 03-Jun-2014
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on edge. The aromatics are initially restrained, but unfold to reveal delicate, classical rose-petal florals and Turkish Delight notes, along with a refreshing minerally edge. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, gently luscious and delicately sweet flavours of exotic tropical fruits intermingle with rose-petal and spicy Turkish Delight nuances. The palate has a near unctuous mouthfeel and lush, oily flow, balanced and cut by fresh, lacy acidity. The palate follows a fine phenolic line leading to a long, lingering dry finish with exotic floral and subtle musk elements. This is an elegant, gently luscious, off-dry Gewurztraminer with delicate florals. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Thai cuisine, or with semi-hard cheeses over the next 3-4+ years. Fruit from the ‘Apple Valley’ vineyard, hand-picked, 50% WBP and fermented with 15% in new oak to 13.2% alc. and 13 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Jun 2014 RRP $24.00
