Te Mania Nelson Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 28-Jun-2016
Bright, golden-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on the edge. The nose is full and open with uncomplicated aromas of fresh yellow stonefruits entwined with subtle mealy, nutty and flinty elements. The aromatics are steely in presentation, with cut and good clarity. Medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of yellow stonefruits and citrus fruits are bright, up-front and clear, with mealy and nutty nuances adding some detail. This is fruit-focussed, refreshing and light in texture, with fresh, lacy acidity lending a brisk mouthfeel. The wine has good energy, carrying the palate to a light, slightly grainy, dry finish with citrus and stonefruit notes. This is a fresh, up-front, fruit-focussed Chardonnay with stonefruit flavours and a light, dry texture. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. Clone 15 fruit from the ‘Helm’ vineyard in Ruby Bay, 15% indigenous yeast barrel-fermented and 85% tank-fermented with oak contact to 13.3% alc., the wine aged 4 months on lees with batonnage and 50% MLF. Vegan wine. 16.0+/20 Jun 2016 RRP $22.99
