Te Mania Nelson Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 03-Jun-2014
Clone 15 and 6 fruit, fully barrel-fermented by indigenous yeasts to 12.2% alc., the wine aged 7 months in 11% new French oak with 50% MLF. Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. The nose is elegantly presented with moderately deep and concentrated aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits entwined with balanced, complexing nutty and creamy barrel-ferment notes. Medium-bodied, the flavours are tightly held and concentrated with yellow stonefruit flavours alongside mealy, nutty oak. The palate has depth, with a dry, soft-textured mouthfeel and soft acidity. Savoury, nutty, oxidative flavours emerge, adding to the interest, and carry through to a concentrated, long finish. This is an elegantly concentrated, savoury, nutty, dry-textured Chardonnay to match with seafood, poultry, pork and Mediterranean fare over the next 3-4 years. Vegan wine and certified BioGro organic. 17.0+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $23.00
