Te Mania Nelson Chardonnay 2012

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Jan-2014
Clone 15 and 6 fruit from 22 y.o. vines, indigenous yeast barrel fermented on solids to 13.2% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 22% 1 y.o. oak, the remainder older barrels, with 40% MLF. Bright straw-yellow with light lemony-gold hues, pale on rim. This has an elegantly intense nose with concentrated aromas of savoury yellow stonefruits and nuts intermixed with nuances of butter and flinty minerals. Medium-bodied, intense flavours of ripe citrus and stonefruits are subtly interwoven with nutty and buttery layers, along with some toasty elements. The mouthfeel is crisp and near-racy with lively acidity, and a very fine-textured line carries the flavours to a long finish of citrus fruit and nuts. This is an elegant and intense Chardonnay with savoury citrus fruit and nutty flavours. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. Vegan wine, certified BioGro organic. 323 cases made. 17.0+/20 Jan 2014 RRP $22.00
