Te Mania ‘Koha’ Nelson Ice Wine 2011

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 01-Dec-2011
100% Riesling from ‘Burkes Bank' vineyard in Hope, with no botrytis infection, and freeze concentrated for fermentation to 10.7% alc. and 123 g/L rs. Brilliant, very pale straw colour with green hues, clear on edge. The nose is very clean and pure, somewhat subdued at present, with delicate floral and honey aromas with nuances of steel and minerals. Sweet on palate with some restraint, the flavours of white florals, citrus fruits and honey are purely expressed, but still tightly bound. The richness and concentration are balanced by crisp, fine acidity, and the mouthfeel is seamless, smooth and harmoniously balanced. Though shy at present, the piquancy of fruit and balance of the wine suggests it should develop very wll over the next 4-5 years. Serve as an aperitif, with pate and foie gras or with fruit desserts. Certified Organic and suitable for vegans. (375 ml) 17.0+/20 Dec 2011 RRP $21.99
