Te Mania ‘Koha’ Nelson ‘Ice’ Riesling 2013

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Jan-2014
Riesling fruit with no botrytis from the Waimea Plains, the vineyard in organic conversion, the juice freeze-concentrated and fermented to 10.3% alc. and 80 g/L RS.Full, bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a fine and intensely penetrating, aromatic bouquet of pure lime and white floral fruits, revealing layers of honeysuckle and minerals, all expressed with freshness, cut and clarity. Sweet to taste, the flavours are fine and tightly bound, showing delicate floral, lime and honied elements. Exotic florals and minerally nuances unfold. The fruit extract and concentration is refined, with soft textures at the core of the palate, and soft acidity providing underlying freshness and enhancing the succulence. The flavours flow smoothly to a fine textured, honied finish. This is a refined and soft Riesling dessert wine with clarity of floral and honied flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with mildly spicy fare or with fruit desserts over the next 3-4 years. (375 ml) 18.0-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $25.00
