Te Mania ‘Koha’ Nelson ‘Ice’ Riesling 2012

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Oct-2012
‘Koha' is Maori for ‘gift'. Hand-picked fruit, WBP, the juice frozen for concentration, fermented to 11.0% alc. and 114 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The bouquet is very fine and intensely concentrated with exotic jasmine, floral and talc aromas, along with a confectionary lift. Very sweet, softly rich and weighty flavours of exotic tropical fruits are interwoven with jasmine, spices, perfumes, talc and honied characters forming a deep and concentrated core. This is rich and succulent, near-unctuous in texture, but well-driven with a little alcohol power noticeable. The acidity is balanced and adds to the linearity, and the wine flows to a long and packed finish with florals, honey and perfume. This is a rich, succulent dessert wine with exotic perfumes and honied flavours. Match with most baked and fruit desserts over the next 3-4+ years. Vegan wine. Certified BioGro Conversion organic. (375 ml) 18.0-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $21.99
