Te Kairanga Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 02-Feb-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues, pale edged. The nose is soft and full with restrained aromas of tropical fruits, gooseberries, herbs and delicate nuances of minerals, revealing a tight core that unveils pungent passionfruit elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is crisp and zesty with thirst-quenching, racy acidity enlivening the flavours of passionfruit, tropical fruits and gooseberries. Herb and mineral notes add detail. This has a tight core with a fine-textured phenolic line that carries the wine to a long, slender and firm finish with nuances of gooseberries and steely herbs. This is a crisp and racy, tightly bound Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and steely herb and gooseberry fruit and a firm line. Serve with seafood and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Home’ vineyard, 77% from the ‘Winery’ block and 23% from ‘Block 2’, fermented in stainless-steel and seasoned French oak to 13.5% alc. and 1 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months in oak. 1, 120 dozen made. 17.5/20 Feb 2016 RRP $19.00
