Te Kairanga Martinborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 23-Jun-2014
A blend of 9 clones from all of the company’s vineyards, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak. Full, dark, deep, youthful purple-red colour. This has a fresh, bright and vibrantly fruity nose with bold and up-front primary dark red berry and cherry aromas, with subtle herbal elements. This is robustly expressive with fruit focus and strong floral lift. Medium-full bodied, the palate features up-front, juicy and bright primary fruit flavours of dark raspberry fruit. The mouthfeel is well-structured with grainy tannins to balance the fruit sweetness, and the palate is lively and vibrant, with good linearity. The tannins have a brashness, carrying the fruit to a sweet fruited, long finish. This is an attractively up-front, bold and fruity Pinot Noir with a degree of robustness. Keep 4-5+ years. 2,640 dozen made. 17.5/20 Jun 2014 RRP $26.99
