Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues at the heart, and a lighter edge. This has a full nose with a gentle core of lively and refreshing white and yellow stonefruits, hints of honeysuckle, and lifted white floral notes, revealing youthful fermentation esters, nuances of nutty elements and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is tight and well-concentrated with intense and up-front flavours of aromatic white and yellow stonefruits, lifted by exotic white florals. The palate has good fruit presence with a suggestion of unctuousness, balanced by fine, grainy phenolics. As the wine flows, the flavours recede, and the wine leads to a fine, firm, dry-textured finish. This is a tightly concentrated, firm, dry Pinot Gris with aromatic stonefruit and floral flavours on a textural palate. Match with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese fare over the next 3+ years. Martinborough fruit fermented in stainless-steel with 10% in French oak to 14.0% alc. and 2.87 g/L RS, the barrel portion aged 4 months in oak. 18.0/20 Nov 2016 RRP $22.00
