Te Kairanga Martinborough Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 02-Feb-2016
Fruit from the ‘Angle Block’ of the ‘Home’ vineyard, fermented partially with indigenous yeasts in stainless-steel and 15% in seasoned French oak to 14.0% alc. and 2.6 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months in oak. Bright straw-yellow with light golden hues. This has a tight and firmly bound nose of white stonefruits along with delicate white floral nuances and hints of nuts. This has a concentrated core that unfolds nuances of flint and steely minerals with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a deep and intense core with concentrated flavours of white stonefruits entwined with subtle layers of nut and steely, flinty, minerals, and nuances of florals. The palate flows along a fine, firm, phenolic line with integrated and balanced acidity, carrying to an elegant, detailed finish. This is a tightly bound, intense and deep, dry Pinot Gris with white stonefruit flavours and fine, firm textures. Serve as an aperitif, poultry and veal over the next 3-4 years. 270 dozen made. 17.5+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $22.00
