Te Kairanga ‘John Martin’ Martinborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 23-Jun-2014
100% Mendoza clone from the ‘Home’ vineyard, hand-picked and barrel-fermented with indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak 500 L puncheons, with 100% MLF. Bright straw-golden colour with slight green hues. Very finely presented aromas of ripe citrus fruits show with intensity. This has freshness and lively, brightness and unfolds layers of steely fruit and minerals, and suggestions of nutty oak. Fullish bodied, gently rich and luscious citrus and stonefruit flavours form a fine, racy palate line. This combines succulence with racy, slippery mouthfeel, and the flavours reveal some savoury nutty elements, leading to a very long, tightly bound, rich and refined finish. This is a rich, bright and lively Chardonnay with a citrus fruit core. 460 dozen made. 18.0/20 Jun 2014 RRP $39.99
