Te Awanga Estate Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 04-Apr-2016
Frull, bright, light straw-yellow colour, paler on edge, This has a soft and gently full nose with aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, subtle gooseberry notes, fresh herbs and mineral detail, all presented with harmony and building in depth with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is rounded with gently rich and succulent flavours of ripe yellow stonefruits, gooseberries, soft herbs and nuances of tropical fruits. This has a smooth core and rounded mouthfeel, and the wine flows easily, guided by a very fine phenolic thread, carrying the flavours to a long, fresh, gently fruited finish. This is a gently rich and succulent Sauvignon Blanc with stonefruit and gooseberry flavours at the core. Match with Mediterranean or Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. ‘Te Awanga Estate’ fruit including 15% fruit from another site, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc., the wine given an extended period on lees. 17.5-/20 Apr 2016 RRP $24.99
