Te Awanga Estate Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 08-Mar-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues, near colourless on the rim. This has a tightly bound, finely expressed, fresh nose with good depth and intensity of white florals and white stonefruits with subtle fermentation esters and mineral notes, and nuances of honeysuckle with flinty lees. Dry to taste, the fruit flavours of white stonefruits and florals ae tightly concentrated and show with purity and clarity. The fruit is underlined by refined textures and refreshed by fresh, lacy acidity lending crispness and tension to the mouthfeel. The palate follows a positive line which leads to a tight, concentrated, slender, but sustained finish. This is a crisp and tightly bound, dry Pinot Gris with pure white stonefruit and floral fruit. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from an old Ngaruroro river terrace, fermented in stainless-steel to 11.0% alc., and 4 g/L RS, the wine given moderate lees contact. 17.0+/20 Mar 2016 RRP $24.99
