Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, lighter on edge. This has a full, soft and evenly expressed nose with an amalgam of citrus fruits, minerals and buttery MLF notes that grow to show good depth. Medium-full bodied, harmoniously entwined flavours of citrus fruits, chalky minerals and butter flow on a smooth, rounded palate. The acidity is discreet and the mouthfeel is mellow and rich. A fine textural thread underlines the fruit, and leads to a blossoming finish with nuts, toasty oak and MLF flavours. This is a softly textured Chardonnay with interwoven citrus, butterscotch and nutty, toasty oak flavours that grow on the palate. Match with roasted poultry and pork over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked Mendoza and clone 15 from vines 10-15 y.o., WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in new and seasoned French oak barriques to 13.4% alc., the wine aged 10 months in barrel with batonnage and partial MLF. 17.5+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $29.99
