Taylors ‘Jaraman’ Adelaide Hills/Clare Valley Chardonnay 2008

Chardonnay from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 04-Aug-2012
55% Adelaide Hills, 45% Clare Valley fruit, fully barrel-fermented to 14.4% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 10% new French oak with batonnage. Bright straw-yellow colour, with a light edge. The bouquet is very fine and tight with excellent depth and concentration of white stonefruits and flinty, nutty, reductive elements combining harmoniously with mealiness and minerals. An elegant and restrained wine in expression, this has an underlying subtle power and weight providing a good line with drive. Refined textures flow along the palate, the mouthfeel soft with a building fruit sweetness on the finish. In the style of a modern Puligny-Montrachet, this could keep 4-6 years. 18.0+/20 Jul 2012
