TattyBogler Otago Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 13-May-2013
From 1 ha of vines on a steep north-west facing slope in Bannockburn with loess and schist soil types, cool-fermented to 11.0% alc. and 12 g/L rs. Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is softly full with aromas of white florals and gentle lime fruit, delicate honeysuckle and talc notes, and chalk nuances. Medium-dry to taste, soft flavours of limes, white florals, honey and sherbet show with a delicate richness. The mouthfeel is soft and chalky in texture, but underlined by mouthwatering acidity that provides liveliness and vibrancy to the palate. There is excellent tension as the flavours flow to a very long, lingering and softly refreshing finish. This is a beautifully soft-textured and gently mouthwatering medium-dry Riesling with subtle floral and honied notes. Serve as an aperitif or with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 4-5+ years. 180 cases made. 18.5/20 May 2013 RRP $30.00
