Moderately crimson, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full, with aromas of blackberry, cherry, dried herbs, cigar leaf and sweet spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of blackberry and cherry, entwined with dried thyme, cigar leaf, cinnamon, liquorice and shiitake. The wine is composed, with dark shaded fruit and herbaceous details; savoury elements emerge, layering complexity with integrated spice and satin-like tannins. This single-vineyard Pinot Noir is harmonious, showing layers and elegance, and delivering a savoury, enticing finish. Match with smoked duck and herb-crusted lamb over the next 5+ years. Only produced in outstanding vintages from a selection of best barrels. The fruit was cold-soaked, then small-batch fermented to 14% alc.
