Bright, medium yellow with a gold hue, even colour throughout. The nose is fresh and softly full, packed with aromas of citrus, apple, delicate spice, flint and subtle notes of almond. Medium-full bodied, elegantly presented on the palate, apple, lemon apricot possesses freshness and energy, adorned by spice, toffee apple and almond. A hint of smoky, toasty oak lingers to a long, enticing finish. The mouthfeel is smooth, lightly creamy with a fine phenolic texture. Excellent acidity provides vibrancy and vitality and lightens up the toffee apple and toasty oak element. This elegant, well-balanced Chardonnay features acid precision and attractive barrel details. Match with stuffed quail and miso-glazed eggplant over the next 5+ years. Fermented to 14.1% alc, aged 8 months in French oak barrels. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) May 2022 RRP $30
