Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 02-May-2023
Moderately deep ruby-red with a slight garnet sheen, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full and enticing, with aromas of dried cherry, dried plum, raspberry, hibiscus, delicate spice and a hint of undergrowth. Medium-bodied, aromas of dried cherry, dried plum and cooked raspberry interweave hibiscus, liquorice, Sichuan pepper and brown mushroom. The fruit is concentrated and fragrant, shows graceful development and complexity. Integrated acidity is soft and lacy, carrying delicate spice to a savoury, sweet-fruited finish. This developed Pinot Noir drinks beautifully, with elegance, grace, and a lingering finish. Match with stuffed quail and duck over the next 3-5 years. 14% alc. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) May 2023 RRP $24.99
