Rosé from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 24-Mar-2022
Bright, even, pale blush pink with depth. The nose is soft and fragrant, with savoury and enticing aromas of rose, white lily, melded with raspberries, peach and blood orange, along with citrus zest and delicate spice. Medium-light bodied, dry to taste, aromas of raspberries, blood orange and peach have a fresh expression, unveiling rose and lily blossom, lingering with citrus zest and white spice to an elegant finish. The fruit shows purity and brightness, supported by tangy acidity, which provides good energy, flow and elegance to a silky textured mouthfeel. This vibrant rosé features fruit's freshness with elegance and fragrance, a taut yet soft acid line, and fine texture. Match with pork dishes and crabcakes over the next 2 years. A blend of Cabernet Franc, Gewurztraminer, Syrah and viognier, fermented to 12% alc, no additions except sulphur. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Mar 2022 RRP $32
