Takopoto Estate Central Otago Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 11-Jul-2023
Slightly hazy(unfiltered), medium ruby with a slight hint of orange, lighter on the rim, youthful appearance. The nose is soft and lifted, with fruity aromas of raspberry, strawberry, hibiscus and subtle spice hints. Medium-bodied, aromas of raspberry and strawberry show concentration, unfolding thyme, cinnamon bark, nutmeg, black pepper and floral details. The wine is silky on the entry, followed by supple, dusty tannins. The concentrated fruit contributes to weight, is supported by tangy acidity and carries a spicy yet elegant finish. Match with duck l'orange and pork over the next 5 years. A blend of Bannockburn (Legends Terrace) and Gibbston (Brennan) fruit, handpicked, aged 12 months in French oak barrels, bottled unfined, unfiltered. 13.9% alc. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) July 2023 RRP $44.99
