Dark, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour. The nose is full with softly packed aromas of ripe dark-red and black berried fruits melded with an earthy layer, unfolding dark herb nuances. The nose grows to show a firm core. Medium-full bodied, the palate shows full and up-front fruit flavours of earthy dark-red and black berried fruits. Subtle notes of dark herbs and a hint of liquorice emerge to add interest. The mouthfeel is soft-textured with modest extraction and acidity, but the palate has good vinosity and presence, with fulsome flavours. The wine carries to a light finish of black and red fruits with bitter cherry and earthy elements. This is a softly full and upfront Monastrell with earthy red and black fruit flavours. Match with antipasto and barbecued fare over the next 3 years. 100% Monastrell fermented to 14.0% alc. Certified organic. 16.0+/20 Jan 2016 RRP $21.90
