Taittinger ‘Les Folies de la Marquetterie’ Champagne NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 06-Dec-2012
45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir from the ‘Folies' vineyard at Ch. Marquetterie. Bright straw-yellow with green-gold hues to the colour, very tiny bubble, and excellent persistence. This has a soft, gentle nose, with delicately aromatic white stonefruits, citrus and cream, and a delicate thread of fresh bready autolysis underling the aromas. Dryish to taste, the gentle, soft creaminess of the mouthfeel is the feature of the palate, distinctly Chardonnay in expression with lifted citrus and floral fruitiness. The autolysis is quite reserved, but shows with finesse, and the dosage sweetness builds to enrich the finish, which is very soft, long and lingering. This is a fine, purely expressed, creamy textured Champagne, perfect as an aperitif. Keep 2-4 years. 18.0/20 Dec 2012
