Summerhouse Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 18-Oct-2022
Moderately deep ruby-red, lighter on the rim. The nose is soft, slowly penetrating aromas of strawberry and cherry melded with a hint of earth and spice. Medium-bodied, cherry, and dried strawberry aromas entwined with thyme and cinnamon elevated with earthiness and secondary spice aromas. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with grainy tannin and vanilla oak elements. Acidity is integrated and carries to a spicy finish. This is a smooth Pinot Noir with strawberry and cherry aromas, subtle secondary development and spice on a soft palate. Match with lamb burgers and duck noodles over the next 3 years. Fruit was cold-soaked for 5 days, fermented in small open-top fermenters, post-ferment maceration for 5 days, aged in French oak barriques for 10 months, 20% new oak. 13.5% alc. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Oct 2022 RRP $25.99
