Summerhouse Pinot Noir 2015, Marlborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-May-2022
Deep, ruby-red with a purple hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full and complex, with savoury aromas on the entry, penetrating mushroom, forest floor balsamic, underlying dried cherries, raspberries, herbs, and spices. Medium-bodied, sweet notes of cherries and raspberries warmed by cinnamon and black pepper, followed by balsamic glaze, mushroom stew and an earthy finish. The wine shows developments, added complexity. Excellent acidity provides vitality; a firm yet silky tannin grip structured in a fine frame. This is a gracefully developed Pinot Noir with savoury, earthy development complexities and a silky tannin line. Match with pork belly stew and braised duck over the next 3 years. Cellar release, made from a single vineyard fruit, 13% alc. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) May 2022 RRP $25
