Summerhouse Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Sep-2017
Bright, clear, near colourless with slight green hues. The nose id very delicate with tightly bound aromas of white stonefruits and pears, exotic florals along with some fresh fermentation esters. The aromatics build in intensity in the glass. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is taut and concentrated with subtle flavours of white stonefruits and pears, along with florals and lifted esters. The wine has soft textures with balanced acidity, and good linearity that caries to a light finish. This is a fresh and youthfully taut, dry Pinot Gris with fragrant stonefruit, floral and esters, on a fine-textured palate. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the Awatere, Rapaura, Wairau and Omaka, fermented with approx. 5% in oak to 13.5% alc. and 6.4 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage, 17.5-/20 Sep 2017 RRP $18.99
