Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Dec-2024
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow. The nose is gently full, with aromas of pear, quince, floral and spice. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, aromas of autumn pear, quince entwined with honeysuckle and five-spice.The fruit shows ripeness, and the spice layer adds interest. A lightly oily mouthfeel carries a dry, textural finish. Match with pulled-pork bao buns and steamed chicken over the next 3-4 years. 75% of the fruit was fermented cold in stainless steel and 25% in seasoned French oak barriques. 13% alc, 2.5 g/l RS. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Dec 2024 RRP $22
