Bright, very pale straw colour with light green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is fresh with intense and tightly bound aromas of pungent passionfruit along with notes of cut grass and nettles, revealing mouthwatering chalky mineral elements and subtle, lifted fermentation esters. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tight and elegantly concentrated with flavours of passionfruit, tropical fruits and gooseberries, lifted with fresh fermentation esters. Some grassy and nettle-like cooler spectrum notes, and mineral hints emerge in the glass. The mouthfeel is soft-textured, but refreshing with lacy acidity, and the palate follows a fine, textural line that carries to a crisp, dry and lingering finish with passionfruit and grassy flavours. This is a tightly bound, elegant Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, grassy and mineral flavours, on a soft, refreshing palate. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years.
