Sugar Loaf Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Jun-2014
Very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, youthfully pale on rim. The nose is fresh, tightly bound, but with good intensity of gooseberry fruit, grassy and herbal notes, unfolding mouthwatering wet-stone minerals and white florals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly presented with tightly held flavours of gooseberries, minerals, herbs and capsicums. The fruit follows a fine, textured line with clean, soft and ripe acidity providing drive and cut. The wine is carried to a softly dry, gently crisp, lingering finish. This is an elegant, tightly bound, crisp and dry Sauvignon Blanc. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Lower Wairau and Dillon’s Point, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc., the wine receiving light lees contact. 17.5/20 Jun 2014 RRP $17.00
