Stony Bank Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Apr-2016
Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is soft and light with aromas of gooseberry fruit intermixed with stonefruits, herbs and cut grass, unfolding white floral and mineral notes that open gently in volume. Dryish to taste and light-bodied, the palate is soft with up-front, subtly sweet fruit flavours of gooseberries, yellow stonefruits, cut grass and herbs. The mouthfeel is rounded and soft in texture with gentle, underlying acid energy. The wine follows a light line leading to an off-dry finish with gooseberry and cut grass notes. This is a soft, light, off-dry Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and cut gras flavours. Serve with salads and vegetables, and with Asian fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Northbank’ Kaituna and ‘Belmonte’ Wairau vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 5.6 g/L RS. 16.0/20 Apr 2016 RRP $15.99
