Stoneleigh ‘Wild Valley’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Aug-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a softly full and voluminous nose of pungent passionfruit and spicy green stonefruit aromas along with an array of ripe tropical fruit elements, all harmoniously entwined. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, full and up-front flavours of passionfruit, gooseberries, nectarines and tropical fruits show with sweetness and subtle lusciousness. Soft acidity lends an effusiveness to the expression. The fruit has concentration and a firm palate line, with light, grainy phenolic textures carrying the flavours to a strong, positive and lingering finish with passionfruit notes and a dry grip. This is a full and voluminous, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with some dry grip and textures. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Stoneleigh’ vineyards, Rapaura, bag-pressed, the juice left at room temperature for indigenous yeast fermentation in stainless-steel, with 10% in seasoned oak to 13.1% alc. and 4.4 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Aug 2015 RRP $18.99
