Stoneleigh ‘Rapaura Series’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Nov-2013
A selection of the best parcels of fruit from the ‘Stoneleigh’ vineyards, fermented in stainless-steel tanks and old oak cuves to 13.4% alc. and 3.6 g/L RS. Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is very full, deeply concentrated and weighty with bold and rich aromas of passionfruit and tropical fruits, revealing waves of flinty detail. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, soft, ripe and mouthfilling flavours of passionfruit, tropical fruits and flinty, mineral detail grow with depth and presence. The palate is lush and rounded, with very fine phenolics and acidity providing excellent tension and drive, enriching the fruit sweetness and adding to the length. The finish is refined in textures and features lingering pungent fruit flavours. This is a rich, pungent, refined Sauvignon Blanc with minerally detail and mouthfilling complexities. Match with herb-marinated poultry and pork dishes, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. 19.0-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $30.99
