Stoneleigh Marlborough Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc NV

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Jul-2012
Bright, very pale straw colour with some green hues. The bubbles mare moderately persistent and small. This has a softly full and voluminous bouquet of passionfruit and ripe tropical fruits, with some pungency, the nose with good depth. Off-dry to taste, this has good frothy, creamy effervescence and a full, rich and well-flavoured palate with deep, pungent passionfruity flavours. This is very Rapaura in expression, the wine openly accessible and broad, but with real depth and concentration. Subtly sweet, the mouthfeel is rich and soft, with an underlying core that leads to a sustained, dry finish. This is a full, soft, but deeply flavoured Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc with attractive creamy mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif, or with poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Stoneleigh' vineyards in Rapaura, on the northern side of the Wairau River, fermented to 11.8% alc. and 8.0 g/L rs. The wine was carbonated. Lot LM164 Z101. 17.5-/20 Jul 2012 RRP $24.99
