Stoneleigh ‘Lighter’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jul-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full and softly intense with pungent passionfruit aromas along with notes of fresh herbs, snow peas and cut grass. This has good depth and concentration. Off-dry to taste and light-bodied, the flavours of passionfruit, herbs, cut grass and snow peas are slender in presentation. The mouthfeel is smooth and slippery-flowing, and the palate is rounded in texture, with light, lacy, refreshing acidity. The balance of sweetness and acidity is harmonious and the wine carries to a light, moderately lingering finish of passionfruit. Full and pungent on the nose, this is an elegant and slender, smooth-flowing Sauvignon Blanc. Serve with salads and vegetables and seafood dishes over the next 18 months to 2 years. MS clone fruit from the ‘Kaituna’ vineyard on the northern side of the Wairau Valley, vines 8-10 y.o., cool-fermented to 9.6% alc. and 6.2 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Jul 2016 RRP $17.29
