Stoneleigh ‘Lighter’ Marlborough Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jul-2016
Bright, very pale pink-blush, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly pack and tightly held, quite reserved with subtle aromas of red berry fruits and red florals entwined with lifted pear and honeysuckle notes and some fermentation esters. Mineral suggestions emerge. Medium-dry to taste and light-bodied, the palate possesses very delicate flavours of strawberries and red florals with lifted pear notes. The mouthfeel is soft and gentle with the residual sugar and acidity in harmony. The wine flows along a delicate, fresh line, leading to a light, clean nuanced finish. This is a delicately fruited, light-bodied medium-dry rosé with a smooth mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with dim sum over the next 18 months. A blend of 50% clone 5 Pinot Noir and 50% MS clone Pinot Gris, from Rapaura soils, vines 6-12 y.o., the fruit cool-fermented to 9.9% alc. and 9.1 g/L RS. 15.5-/20 Jul 2016 RRP $17.29
